The healing process after your first Lip Blush session can take 1 to 2 weeks depending on the individual, with the final result visible after 4 to 6 weeks. The first 10 days after the procedure are extremely important. Please follow these tips for the best results:
- Do not touch, rub, or scratch your lips; they may be sensitive and appear slightly red.
- Avoid spicy foods.
- Keep your lips dry and clean, avoiding situations where they could be exposed to dust and dirt, excessive sweating, saunas, pools, or long showers.
- Avoid wearing makeup on the area during the healing process as dirt can enter the open skin.
- Change your pillowcase as soon as you get home to avoid contamination.
- Do not sleep on your face.
- Avoid sun exposure and tanning.
- Avoid facials until the lips are completely healed.
- Your lips will start to form scabs 1 to 3 days after the procedure; this is normal. Do not pick the scabs and let them fall off naturally.
- Apply aftercare ointment daily as directed by your artist.
- Once scabbing is complete, your lips will appear very light, and the desired color will slowly surface.
- Eyebrows Pre-care
- Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion 3 days before your appointment.
- Botox and filler injections should be done at least 4 weeks before your appointment as they can alter the positioning of your eyebrows and the texture of your skin.
- Avoid taking antibiotics.
- No Retin-A, chemical exfoliants, or Accutane within 30 days of your appointment.
- No surgery within the last 30 days.
- Avoid sun exposure (or UV tanning) less than two weeks before your appointment. If you have a sunburn at the time of your appointment, you will need to reschedule.
- Avoid waxing or tinting your eyebrows for 2 weeks before your appointment.
- Avoid blood thinners such as ibuprofen, aspirin, Aleve, NSAIDs, vitamin E, fish oil, or vitamins unless medically necessary 48-72 hours before your appointment. We will need a doctor’s approval if you are on prescribed blood thinners.
- Avoid working out at least 2 hours before your appointment.
- No alcohol or caffeine at least 2 hours before your appointment.
- If desired, wear your usual makeup to give an idea of your preferred eyebrow color and shape.
- Stay hydrated and eat a light meal on the day of your appointment.
- Stop using any eyebrow growth serums like Latisse as they can cause sensitivity and affect pigments.
- Avoid scheduling an appointment during your menstrual cycle if possible as this can increase skin sensitivity.
